Oben Electric Reports Record 1,417 Registrations in September 2026, Takes Top Spot in Electric Motorcycle Segment

Oben Electric has recorded its strongest-ever monthly registration figure, with 1,417 electric motorcycles registered in September 2026. Based on VAHAN data cited by the company, the Bengaluru-based EV maker says it ranked first among electric motorcycle manufacturers in India during the month.

The company credits the performance primarily to the Rorr Evo, which continues to be its key product in the electric motorcycle category. The September achievement follows another production milestone, with Oben recently rolling out its 10,000th electric motorcycle from its Bengaluru manufacturing facility.

Oben’s leadership claim is limited to the electric motorcycle segment for September 2026. It does not represent the entire electric two-wheeler industry, where electric scooters are also included.

Rorr Evo remains central to Oben’s growth

According to Oben Electric, the Rorr Evo played a major role in helping the company reach its highest monthly registration figure so far. The motorcycle is positioned around factors such as styling, performance, riding range and practicality for everyday use.

However, Oben has not released a model-specific registration split for September. As a result, the 1,417-unit figure represents the company’s total electric motorcycle registrations and cannot be considered the sales figure of the Rorr Evo alone.

The company has also not shared comparable registration numbers for August 2026 or September 2025. This means the available information does not support calculating either monthly or yearly growth percentages.

Oben founder and CEO Madhumita Agrawal attributed the milestone to customer response towards the brand and the Rorr Evo. She also pointed to electric motorcycles as a potential contributor to broader adoption of electric mobility among everyday commuters.

10,000th electric motorcycle rolls out

Oben’s September registration milestone comes alongside its achievement of manufacturing its 10,000th electric motorcycle at its Bengaluru facility.

The company operates a 3.5-acre manufacturing plant with a claimed annual production capacity of 1 lakh motorcycles. The two figures represent different stages of its operations: the 10,000-unit figure reflects cumulative vehicles produced, while the 1-lakh figure represents the plant’s stated potential annual capacity.

Oben also follows an in-house approach for several important EV systems. Its portfolio of internally developed components includes LFP batteries, motors, vehicle control units and chargers, along with proprietary software.

Developing these systems internally gives Oben greater involvement in areas such as component integration, engineering and product development as production volumes scale up.

Oben expands its sales and service footprint

The company has continued to increase its physical presence, with 150+ showrooms spread across more than 90 cities in 18 states. The network is supported by dedicated Oben Care service centres.

A larger retail footprint gives prospective customers access to more locations for product demonstrations and test rides. At the same time, the availability of service facilities, technicians and support infrastructure will become increasingly important as the number of Oben motorcycles on Indian roads grows.

Oben has not disclosed a detailed city-wise registration split or the exact number of dedicated service centres in the information released.

What the September milestone indicates

The 1,417 registrations recorded in September 2026 mark Oben Electric’s highest monthly registration figure to date, according to the company. With production crossing 10,000 motorcycles and its retail network expanding across 18 states, the manufacturer is continuing to build its presence in India’s electric motorcycle market.

However, the available figures represent company-reported milestones and segment-specific claims, while detailed model-wise, month-on-month and year-on-year registration data have not been disclosed.
