2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift Arrives at ₹9.99 Lakh With New 8-Speed Automatic and Added Features

Skoda Auto India has introduced the 2026 Slavia facelift, bringing a series of updates to its midsize sedan without altering the model’s core formula. The refreshed Slavia is priced between ₹9.99 lakh and ₹18.84 lakh (ex-showroom) and gets styling revisions, upgraded technology, additional comfort features and a new automatic gearbox option for the 1.0 TSI.

The biggest mechanical change is the introduction of a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission with the 1.0-litre TSI engine. The existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines continue to power the sedan, while the car retains its India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform.

Rather than being a complete redesign, the facelift is aimed at making the Slavia more competitive against newer rivals by improving its equipment, cabin experience and everyday usability.

What Has Changed With the Slavia Facelift?

Skoda has retained the sedan’s familiar shape and mechanical foundation but introduced a number of updates across its exterior, interior and equipment list.

Key additions include:

  • New LED headlamps
  • Revised LED tail-lamps
  • Sequential turn indicators
  • Updated alloy-wheel designs
  • Revised front and rear styling
  • New 8-speed torque-converter automatic for the 1.0 TSI
  • 360-degree Area View camera
  • Larger digital instrument cluster on higher variants
  • Rear Seat Massage function
  • Updated infotainment system
  • AI Companion powered by Google Cloud
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Front parking sensors
  • New interior themes

These changes give the Slavia more technology and comfort equipment while preserving the model’s established character.

Exterior Updates Keep the Slavia’s Familiar Silhouette

Skoda has avoided major changes to the Slavia’s overall proportions. Instead, the facelift introduces a series of detail-level revisions intended to give the sedan a fresher appearance.

The front-end now features new LED headlamps, revised lighting elements and updated bumper detailing. The signature Skoda grille continues to define the nose of the car.

Further changes include new alloy-wheel designs and redesigned LED tail-lamps with sequential turn indicators at the rear. These updates add a more contemporary appearance without moving the Slavia away from its existing design language.

The Monte Carlo remains the sportiest-looking version of the range. It gets black exterior elements, Monte Carlo badging, dual-tone colour combinations and styling touches influenced by Skoda’s motorsport heritage.

Cabin Gets More Technology and Comfort

The basic dashboard layout of the Slavia remains largely unchanged, but the facelift brings improvements to the equipment available inside.

Higher variants now get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, while the infotainment system receives upgraded connectivity features. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available.

One of the more notable technology additions is Skoda’s AI Companion, which uses Google Cloud’s Automotive AI technology.

However, the biggest cabin-related change is aimed at passengers in the rear.

Rear Seat Massage Adds a New Comfort Feature

Skoda has introduced a Rear Seat Massage function with the facelift, which the company describes as a segment-first feature.

The addition changes the Slavia’s focus slightly. While the sedan has traditionally been known for its turbo-petrol engines and driving characteristics, the new rear-seat comfort feature gives it greater appeal among family buyers and those who regularly use the rear seats.

For Indian buyers, where rear-seat comfort can play a significant role in the sedan-buying decision, this could become one of the Slavia facelift’s more distinctive features.

360-Degree Camera Added to the Equipment List

Another major addition is the 360-degree Area View camera.

The camera system works alongside front parking sensors and is designed to make parking and low-speed manoeuvring easier, particularly in crowded urban environments.

With 360-degree camera systems becoming increasingly common among buyers when comparing equipment levels, this update helps the Slavia close some of the feature gap with newer competitors.

1.0 TSI Gets a New 8-Speed Automatic

The engine lineup remains unchanged, but the 1.0 TSI gets a significant transmission update.

The three-cylinder 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol produces:

  • 115 PS
  • 178 Nm

It can now be paired with either a 6-speed manual or the new 8-speed torque-converter automatic.

The addition of the eight-speed unit is arguably the most important mechanical change introduced with the facelift. The extra ratios are intended to provide a balance between performance, smoother cruising and efficiency.

The new automatic also gives buyers who want a two-pedal Slavia an alternative without having to step up to the more powerful 1.5 TSI.

1.5 TSI Continues With DSG

The more powerful 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI continues unchanged in the updated Slavia.

It produces:

  • 150 PS
  • 250 Nm

The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

This remains the performance-focused option in the Slavia lineup and is likely to continue attracting buyers who place greater importance on outright performance.

Safety Package Remains a Strong Point

The Slavia continues to use the MQB-A0-IN architecture and retains its 5-star Global NCAP safety credentials.

The safety package includes six airbags, while the facelift adds features such as the 360-degree Area View camera and front parking sensors.

The combination of structural safety and additional parking assistance technology strengthens the Slavia’s overall safety and convenience package.

Exterior Colour Choices

Skoda offers the facelifted Slavia in a wide range of exterior finishes:

  • Arctic Silver
  • Cappuccino Beige
  • Shimla Green
  • Steel Grey
  • Brilliant Silver
  • Candy White
  • Carbon Steel
  • Cherry Red
  • Deep Black
  • Lava Blue

Monte Carlo versions also get contrasting black-roof combinations with selected exterior colours.

Slavia Facelift vs Its Main Rivals

The updated Slavia remains part of a competitive midsize sedan segment, where it faces rivals with different strengths.

Volkswagen Virtus

The Virtus remains one of the closest alternatives to the Slavia, sharing its mechanical foundation and offering a similar turbo-petrol-focused character.

Hyundai Verna

The Verna stands out for its equipment and technology package and is also available with a powerful turbo-petrol engine.

Honda City

The City continues to attract buyers looking for refinement, rear-seat comfort, naturally aspirated petrol performance and Honda’s established reputation in the sedan segment.

With the facelift, the Slavia adds features such as the 360-degree camera, AI-enabled infotainment and rear-seat massage to its existing performance-oriented package.

Which 2026 Slavia Variant Makes the Most Sense?

The entry-level Classic and Classic+ 1.0 TSI manual variants remain the most accessible choices for buyers focused on keeping the purchase price lower.

For predominantly urban driving, the 1.0 TSI 8-speed automatic could be the most balanced option. It provides the convenience of an automatic transmission while avoiding the additional step up to the 1.5 TSI.

Buyers who prioritise performance should look towards the 1.5 TSI DSG, particularly in the Prestige or Monte Carlo variants.

At the top of the range, the Monte Carlo 1.5 TSI DSG is priced at ₹18.84 lakh, combining the most powerful engine option with the range’s sportiest exterior treatment.

2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift: What’s the Big Change?

The 2026 Slavia facelift does not attempt to completely reinvent the sedan. Instead, Skoda has concentrated on areas that matter to buyers today: automatic transmission choices, technology, parking assistance, rear-seat comfort and updated styling.

The new 8-speed automatic for the 1.0 TSI is the biggest mechanical development, while features such as the rear-seat massage function, 360-degree camera, AI Companion and larger digital display broaden the car’s appeal.

With prices beginning at ₹9.99 lakh and extending to ₹18.84 lakh, the refreshed Slavia continues to combine turbo-petrol performance with a more feature-rich package as it takes on the Virtus, Verna and City in India’s midsize sedan market.
