C12 MaxR Pricing: What Buyers Need to Know

While BGauss has announced an introductory price of ₹1,45,990, the pricing displayed on the company’s website is different.

The official website currently mentions:

  • Ex-showroom price with charger: ₹1,59,990
  • PM E-Drive incentive: ₹5,000
  • Effective ex-showroom price: ₹1,54,990

This means prospective buyers should check with their local BGauss dealership regarding the availability and validity of the ₹1.46 lakh introductory price before making a booking.

3.8kWh Battery Promises Up to 178km

Powering the C12 MaxR is a 3.8kWh fixed LFP battery pack, paired with an electric motor capable of delivering 4.2kW of peak power.

BGauss claims that the scooter can deliver up to 178km of certified range on a single charge. Riders can choose between three riding modes depending on their requirements.

Eco mode limits the scooter to 45km/h, while Ride mode raises the maximum speed to 60km/h. The Sport mode allows the C12 MaxR to reach its claimed top speed of 75km/h.

The scooter is claimed to complete the 0–40km/h sprint in 5.3 seconds.

For charging, the supplied 750W charger takes around 3 hours and 50 minutes to take the battery from 0 to 80 per cent. A full charge takes approximately 5 hours and 15 minutes.

Built Around Everyday Practicality

Rather than following an aggressive sporty design, the C12 MaxR adopts a more conventional scooter layout focused on everyday usability. It gets a broad floorboard, a long seat and a large pillion grab rail.

At the front, the scooter features a projector-style LED headlamp, with LED lighting also available at the rear.

Storage is another major highlight. BGauss claims 38 litres of overall storage capacity, along with four additional smaller storage compartments. The under-seat boot area also gets dedicated illumination.

With a 768mm seat height, the C12 MaxR should be accessible to a wide range of riders. Its 160mm ground clearance is designed to provide sufficient clearance over common urban obstacles and speed breakers.

Technology and Safety Features

The C12 MaxR comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT display featuring smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

Its feature list includes:

  • Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes
  • Reverse function
  • Cruise mode
  • USB Type-C charging
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Multiple screen themes
  • Parental Lock
  • SecureLock
  • SOS assistance
  • DigiLocker connectivity
  • Vehicle diagnostics
  • Side-stand motor cut-off
  • FallSense technology
  • Limp-home mode
  • Illuminated storage compartment

The FallSense system is designed to disconnect motor power if the scooter detects a fall. Meanwhile, the limp-home function limits the scooter’s performance when the battery reaches a critically low level, allowing the rider to make their way towards a charging facility.

Suspension, Wheels and Braking Hardware

The C12 MaxR is built around 12-inch tubeless wheels. At the front, suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork, while the rear gets an offset unit with five-step preload adjustment.

Stopping power comes from a front disc brake and rear drum brake setup. However, the scooter is not equipped with ABS.

Four Exterior Colours

BGauss will offer the C12 MaxR in four colour combinations:

  • Sparkling Wine with Champagne Gold
  • Terra Green with Champagne Gold
  • Satin Black
  • Pearl White

With its long claimed range, generous storage capacity and family-oriented equipment list, the C12 MaxR expands BGauss’ electric scooter line-up with a focus on practicality and everyday usability.
