Suzuki Motorcycle India recorded 1,03,118 units in sales in August 2026, marking a 13% increase compared with the 91,629 units sold during the same month last year. However, sales were lower on a month-on-month basis, falling 16% from the 1,23,216 units recorded in July 2026.
The Suzuki Access continued to account for the majority of the company’s volumes, with more than 69,000 units sold during the month. The Burgman followed as the second-highest-selling Suzuki model, while the V-Strom SX posted the highest year-on-year growth among the models listed, supported by a comparatively low base in August 2025.

Access Remains Suzuki’s Volume Driver
The Access continued to dominate Suzuki’s monthly sales, registering 69,558 units in August 2026. This was an increase of 8,751 units over the 60,807 units sold in August 2025, translating into 14% year-on-year growth.
The model alone contributed roughly 76% of Suzuki’s total year-on-year volume increase, which stood at 11,489 units. Compared with July, however, Access sales dropped 16% from 82,505 units.
Burgman Holds Second Position
The Burgman remained Suzuki’s second-largest contributor during the month. Sales stood at 25,345 units, up 5% from the 24,191 units recorded in August 2025.
On a month-on-month basis, Burgman volumes declined 17%, compared with 30,607 units in July 2026.
Avenis Sales Decline
The Avenis recorded 5,696 units in August 2026. Sales were down 6% compared with the 6,067 units sold in August last year.
The scooter also registered a 19% month-on-month decline, with July sales standing at 7,061 units.
V-Strom SX Posts Sharpest YoY Growth
The V-Strom SX recorded one of the biggest percentage movements in Suzuki’s August sales data. The motorcycle registered 1,012 units, compared with just 101 units in August 2025.
This resulted in a 902% year-on-year increase. Unlike most Suzuki models, the V-Strom SX also recorded monthly growth, with sales rising 12% from 904 units in July.
Gixxer Sales Rise YoY Despite Monthly Drop
The Gixxer posted 745 units in August 2026, compared with 390 units during the same period last year. This represents a 91% year-on-year increase.
However, sales were down significantly from July, when the model recorded 1,225 units, resulting in a 39% month-on-month decline.
The Gixxer 250 registered 59 units in August, compared with 16 units a year ago. Its sales were therefore up 269% year-on-year, while slipping marginally by 3% from July’s 61 units.
e-Access Records 668 Units
Suzuki’s e-Access electric scooter registered 668 units during August 2026. Since the model had no reported sales in August 2025, a year-on-year growth percentage cannot be calculated.
Compared with July 2026, sales declined 19%, from 825 units. The e-Access accounted for less than 1% of Suzuki’s overall monthly sales.
Hayabusa Sees Monthly Recovery
The Hayabusa recorded 34 units in August 2026. While this was considerably lower than the 52 units sold in August 2025, representing a 35% year-on-year decline, the model saw a strong month-on-month improvement.
Sales increased 79% from July’s 19 units.
DL800DE and GSX-8R Volumes Remain Limited
The DL800DE reported no sales in August 2026, compared with five units in August 2025 and nine units in July. This represents a 100% decline against both comparison periods.
Meanwhile, the GSX-8R recorded one unit in August. The model had no reported sales in either August 2025 or July 2026.
Suzuki August Sales: Key Takeaway
Suzuki closed August 2026 with 1,03,118 units, delivering double-digit year-on-year growth despite a month-on-month decline. The overall performance was largely supported by the Access, while the Burgman continued to provide a substantial volume contribution.
Among the motorcycles, the V-Strom SX and Gixxer recorded notable year-on-year gains, while the Avenis declined. The e-Access remained a relatively small contributor to the company’s overall volumes, and premium models such as the Hayabusa, DL800DE and GSX-8R continued to account for limited monthly sales.
